We’ve overhauled how you navigate Android Auto using the physical controls. Previously, moving between an active app and the taskbar meant visually tracking a cursor across the screen—an unnecessary distraction.

THE UPGRADE: When deep inside an app (like Google Maps or Spotify), a single left-push of the rotary dial instantly snaps you back to the app list. 

No more cursor hunting. No more unnecessary clicks. It’s a seamless, blind-operation exit that keeps your focus exactly where it belongs: on the road ahead.

2. Total Freedom: Customizable Taskbar Placement

Your cockpit, your rules. This firmware unlocks the ability to position the Android Auto taskbar exactly where you want it: on the bottom, the left, or the right side of your screen.

How to adjust your layout: Customize this directly from your smartphone’s Android Auto settings before you ride:

• Open Settings on your phone and search for Android Auto.

• Scroll down to find Taskbar widgets. Toggle this setting to switch the taskbar position between the bottom and the side of your screen.

• To switch the side taskbar between the left and right, tap Driver seat location and select Left or Right.

• Note: Changes take effect when Android Auto restarts.
